This is a foreign film and subtitled but don't let that put you off, it's a gem.

I reckon this might be the best zombie flick you will ever see.

You can imagine it can't you? A zombie apocalypse breaks out on a train and the undead move from carriage to carriage eating the passengers. There's a bit of that in this movie.

There's a nice amount of playing with the central premise but mixed with some rich human drama. We've got a Father and daughter story with a side of pregnant couple and it's fertile ground for stakes and moral outcomes.

The most important thing in any monster movie is a discussion about what the humans would do, how might they behave in those circumstances. There's a very decent discussion about it here with some of the endings poignant and bitter sweet.

Su-an is the little girl in this film and her innocence serves as a stark contrast to the emerging life and death survival horror we can see playing out before us. She's the motivation for her father's entire character arc and we see him go from a selfish business type to selfless realist.

His arc doesn't end when you think it does and you end up completing a delightful circle at the very end where we're treated to an excellent twist. You might find your eyes are leaking a bit in the final scene.

It's all zombie apocalypse in the front and touching Dad / daughter drama in the back.

If you ever find yourself wondering if that foreign person who dresses differently and doesn't speak your language has anything in common with you then just remember how the final scenes of this film have you feeling and you'll immediately know that we share the same humanity!
