This flopped at the box office sadly because I reckon it's got legs.

The action sequences are superb but I think the music fails to punctuate the moments, this is in line with other films in the series but I think audiences are used to being told by the score when something significant just happened and my ears felt uninformed.

It reads like:
Matter of fact a cool death. Matter of fact another cool moment...

If you're paying attention then you'll be having constant "Whoa! Mind Blown" moments but if you're gazing at your phone you'll be missing some really imaginative post-apocalyptic road war.

However, the gradual ageing of the young to old versions of the character are seamless apparently due to some AI face replacement technique that mixes in percentages of both actors.

There's a scene when Furiosa emerges as her older self from "Mad Max Fury Road" and hats off to Anya Taylor Joy her voice sounds very similar to Charlize Theron in that movie. I skimmed the Wiki article and they did use AI to replace some voices but I couldn't see a specific mention. The cadence and accent seems spot on, to my ears anyway. Most impressed.

Overall personally, I really enjoyed it and if you like the series and you enjoy good action sequences then you won't be disappointed. I reckon not getting distracted will add 10x the value to your experience of this movie.

I know there's been a lot of talk online about an old Mad Max film with Mel Gibson. I'm not sure George Miller (Director of films from that series) would get insured to be on set now (he's 80!) but I reckon Denis Villeneuve would do an impressive job. If you think about it, they've got young Furiosa (Alyla Browne - apparently Nicole Kidman's daughter), middle aged Max (Tom Hardy) and Furiosa (Charlize Theron) and old Max (Mel Gibson). With that lot I reckon they could tell a ripping yarn.

I think they should start a "Give Mel Gibson a blowie if he returns as Mad Max" group, I'm not gay but I'd certainly consider it if he re-appeared as the character - someone AI'd it so I've included the image - bet that'd shift a few tickets! (for the film NOT the blowies...)
